Whyonesitewouldn'twork
With 24 locations and a wide range of services, keeping everything on one parent site would have made the sitemap cumbersome, with a near-duplicate page for every service in every location. Modality also needed more people to find its Caterham clinic and book there, and on a single site any pages promoting Caterham would have sat among the national pages and cluttered them. Both problems came down to how the website was structured, so that's what we changed.

Whatwebuilt
A WordPress multisite is one installation that runs a network of separate websites. Each site has its own pages and content, but they all share the same base, which suits a group with national reach and local clinics.

The national parent site
As part of our Web Development work, we kept the parent site at modalityllp.com as Modality's national site. It covers the group's services, from MRI scans and ultrasound to GP appointments, and the pages for its locations.

A child site for the Surrey clinic
The Surrey child site, at modalityllp.com/surrey, gives Modality Treatment Centre Surrey in Caterham its own pages for the services it offers there: aesthetics, dermatology, GP services, weight management and earwax removal. With its own booking form on the home page, it can promote Caterham directly while keeping that activity off the national site.

A microsite for MRI scans
The MRI scans microsite, at modalityllp.com/scans, is built as a hub and spoke. The Private MRI Scans page links to a page for each area of the body, those link on to single scans such as a brain MRI, and every page leads back to the hub. Its own pricing, how-our-scans-work and booking pages take patients from their first question through to booking a scan.

One installation for every site
All three sites run on the same WordPress installation and share the same base, so another service or location can be given a child site of its own without building a new website. The network can grow as Modality adds services and locations.

Whatchanged
The national site now tells Modality's story clearly, without a near-duplicate service page for every location. The Surrey child site is about the Caterham clinic alone, so Modality can promote it without cluttering the national pages, and the MRI microsite keeps every MRI scan page together in one place. Three focused websites, run from one installation.
